Subject: Update on the notill COC project from today.

Saronville NE
Well it has been a LONG day to do that 80 of notill COC. IMO it looks like crap and the stand is going to suck, I can already tell the way the wind blew the trash back over the row today. We tried the disk idea this morning shallow just fluffed stuff up, deeper brought up muck. So gave the disk up after 1 pass, he didnt like it. Aired the bags up, did a way better job of cleaning trash, but still doesnt get the trash far enuff outa the way to get even depth, set the planter deeper with the hopes of at least avgerageing 1 1/2", know I had some 2 3/4"- 1" but IDK what else to do, just a solid mat of trash. Plugged several times where row cleaners just wanted to push, had the row cleaners set as deep or deeper then they have ever been on this planter. IDK how many times I got out to put chains back on, where the row cleaners got trash up in em, just piled deep of light fluffy trash and loose dirt. With all the mickey mousing around spent 7 1/2 hrs to plant an 80 that should of taken 4 1/2 hrs. Was a dang good reminder why I quit notill COC on my own ground. Moved to a conventional till field for tomorrow, tonite, that will be nice not to have promblems like today. As you can pry tell Im not in a good mood after today.
